My Mission: To share stories, deepen our sense of place, and make educational interpretation accessible to everyone.

I launched Field to Frame Interpretive Planning & Design in 2018 to help organizations, agencies, and businesses share stories.

From initial project planning to small exhibits and outdoor signs, Field to Frame will organize and manage all steps of the process to share your story.

I spent most of my career in nonprofit leadership, management, and teaching in Colorado, Minnesota, Washington, and Montana. I launched Field to Frame after building extensive experience in environmental education and nonprofit administration.

What does this mean for you? I understand what you are working with. I’ve worked for non profit organizations for more than 20 years and understand the opportunities, challenges, and constraints. I’ve been on the client side of interpretation.

Skillset

In my non profit career I have launched programs and supported them as they grow. I understand what it takes to put plans into action and how to keep complex projects moving forward. You can rely on me to keep your interpretive planning process or design in focus while we work on meeting your organization’s interpretive goals.

I’ve been at the center of project management throughout my career in education. I have experience guiding diverse teams of stakeholders through collaborative processes. I will lead your existing team, or the team we build together, through the steps of sharing your story.

When we take the time to plan ahead, we are more successful in meeting our goals–especially in the field of interpretation. As a NAI Certified Interpretive Planner, I can bring my expertise in working with diverse groups, goal setting, vision planning, project planning and interpretive project development and management to your agency or organization to create your plan.

Don’t know where to even begin? I will guide your team through interpretive planning from setting goals that align with your mission and needs to helping you build an action plan to put the wheels in motion. I can stick with you through the design process or prepare a plan that is ready to hand off to a designer of choice.

I can use your interpretive plan to guide your project through to the end. We will set a budget, create a timeline and I’ll work with you to meet deadlines and create an interpretive experience to meet your expectations.

I’ve have experience working with different artists, writers and exhibit fabricators. I’ve also worked with field experts, program staff, organizational leaders, board members and funders. Through the project, I will coordinate your team while managing all budget requirements and timelines. So you can do something else.

I can work with you to review your existing materials and interpretive plans to highlight areas for improvement and help you prioritize your project plans.

I’ve worked for non profits and I know that time and money are limited. I’ve built exhibits with tight budgets and timelines and I can apply what I’ve learned to your project. Just because you are small doesn’t mean you can’t have high quality, educational materials. Let’s talk about your dreams. Let’s get started on a plan.

Want to know more about me?

I live in Montana with my two kids, my husband, a couple of dogs, and two guinea pigs. In the summer, I love to camp, hike, garden, bike, kick back on Rock Creek, and eat huckleberries. In the winter, we put on our skis and we are easier to spot at Snowbowl. We visit as many museums as possible when we travel, always looking for hikes and interpretive trails to spice up a long road trip. Send me recommendations! I’d love to check out your museum or trail.
