Stormwater management doesn’t sound very inspiring. But Cattail Corner is anything but. City of Missoula Stormwater redesigned Cattail Pond and wetlands to create a well-functioning stormwater treatment facility that uses “green infrastructure” to treat urban stormwater. The result will be a healthier wetlands and pond area. Interpretation shares the process with visitors.
Project Goals
- Visitors to Cattail Corner can describe the stormwater flow from a neighborhood to Cattail Corner.
- Visitors will identify Cattail Corner as a stormwater and flood control system offering minimal sediment filtration and contaminants from yards and streets before entering the aquifer.
- Visitors will leave with a desire to support stormwater infrastructure projects.
- Visitors will leave with a desire to improve impacts on stormwater at home.
